Privacy Policy
Builbi (builbi.com) is a real-estate research tool for Fairfield County, Connecticut. This page says what we collect about you, why, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address, and if you choose to add them, your name, phone number, company name and logo. If you sign in with Google we receive your name, email and profile picture from Google.
- What you save. Properties you save, folders you make, documents you create, chat conversations with the Builbi assistant, and photos you upload for a property.
- Usage. When you use Builbi, signed in or not, we record the pages you visit, the towns and properties you open, when you ask the assistant a question, your IP address, the approximate location that address points to (city and region), and your device and browser. We use this to understand how Builbi is used and to keep the service running. We also keep error reports.
What we use it for
- To run your account: signing you in, showing your saved work on every device, and putting your name, company and logo on documents you create.
- To answer your questions in the assistant. Your questions and the property data needed to answer them are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce the answer. They are not used to train models.
- To send you email: sign-in codes, notices about your account, and one welcome email the day after you sign up that shows how to use Builbi in Claude and ChatGPT.
- To bill you, once paid plans exist. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't share your saved work or conversations with other users unless you share a link yourself.
- We don't send marketing email without asking first. Sign-in codes, account notices and the one welcome email are the only emails we send by default, and the welcome email has a link to stop it.
Using Builbi from ChatGPT or Claude
You can connect Builbi to ChatGPT (made by OpenAI) or Claude (made by Anthropic). You sign in to your Builbi account and approve the connection yourself. When you ask a question there, the assistant sends Builbi a request for the property data it needs, such as an address, a town or a search. We record which kind of request it was, what it was about and which account made it, the same way we record use of builbi.com. The data we send back goes to OpenAI or Anthropic so the assistant can write its answer, and their privacy policies cover your conversation on their side. Builbi does not receive your whole conversation. You can disconnect Builbi at any time in ChatGPT's or Claude's settings, or by asking us.
Property data
The property information in Builbi comes from public records: town assessors, the Connecticut open data portal, court filings, land records and public listings. It describes properties, not our users. If you believe a public record about a property you own is wrong, contact the town that published it.
Cookies and storage
We use browser storage to keep you signed in, to remember settings like your town and theme, and to hold a random visitor ID that ties your visits together. We do not use advertising cookies.
Where your data lives
Accounts and saved work are stored with Supabase (United States). The app runs on Vercel and Render. Email is sent through Resend. Error reports go to Sentry. Payments, once paid plans exist, go through Stripe. Assistant questions on builbi.com go to Anthropic, and questions you ask in ChatGPT or Claude involve OpenAI or Anthropic as described above.
How long we keep it
- Account details, what you save, and your usage records are kept while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove them within 30 days.
- Answers the assistant is still writing are held for two days so an interrupted answer can resume, then deleted.
- Visits made while signed out are tied only to a random visitor ID and kept with our other usage records.
Your choices
You can sign out of every device from your account settings. To delete your account and everything saved with it, email hello@builbi.com from the address on the account and we will remove it within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will note the new date at the top of this page and, for material changes, email account holders.
